WHO THE SCHOLARSHIP HELPS:

The Tommy Dexter Cadle Law Scholarship Endowment is administered through the University of Mississippi Foundation. The Cadle Law Scholarship benefits Mississippi residents who go to law school later in life versus the traditional path of law school right after undergraduate degree. Consideration is given to an applicant’s life experience that will add unique perspective, enrichment, or diversity of view to the law student class. Examples may include students going to law school after service in volunteer, nonprofit, military, law enforcement, other public sectors, a caregiving role, or business experience. The endowment was founded with the belief that these scholarships will provide opportunity for non-traditional students and those students will, in turn, provide valuable real-world perspectives to the overall law school class.

THE GOAL OF THIS EVENT:

This Drawdown and Silent Auction fundraiser is part of ongoing fundraising efforts to support scholarships in the next academic year as well as grow the endowment to increase scholarships in future years.

This year, 20% of the net proceeds from this event will fund law school scholarships for current students in the 2024-2025 academic year. The remaining 80% of net proceeds will be placed in the endowment to perpetually fund future scholarships.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO BID OR WIN:

The Drawdown and Silent Auction will each be conducted using specialized 3rd party software applications that will allow remote participation, so you do NOT have to be present to win the Drawdown grand prize or to bid on and win Silent Auction items. Bids will be accepted via the Charity Auctions app during the weeks leading up the event and during the event itself. A livestream of the the Drawdown Board will also be available for viewing on the internet in real time during the May 3 event.
