The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council is launching a new series of art classes in 2010 that are designed to let participants open up their creativity. “We try to offer programs all year that provide the community with the chance to explore their talents in the art,” shared Wayne Andrews, Director of the Arts Council. The arts council will feature a class by artist Hilary Maslon.
Ms. Maslon, holds an MFA from Queens College in New York, has designed a class that would offer students a chance to explore creativity. The class will be held at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center on Wednesdays beginning Feb 3, 2010 from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m and run for five weeks.
The class is open to students of any age and any artistic level. This class is designed to allow you to explore your ideas, mix materials that might not be commonly combined, so you can stretch your imagination while gaining an appreciation for art. Registration for the class is $75 for five classes plus $10 registration fee and cost of supplies. Members of the arts council receive a $10 discount on the class.
