Second Audition Date Added The Oxford Park Commission and Yoknapatawpha Arts Council present a community talent show “ Oxford’s Got Talent”. The program and contest is designed to highlight the diverse talents of members of the community. The program is open to all residents of Lafayette County.

The program and contest is designed to highlight the diverse talents of members of the community. The program is open to all residents of Lafayette County.
Rules
The contest is limited to individual performers. No bands, groups, or troupes. The performer may present any talent that would fit into a family oriented program such as singing, performance on a musical instrument, magic, or dance.
Performers may have live or recorded accompaniment, assistants, or stage assistants but their support must be limited to the technical requirements and an assisting role.
Performer requiring supporting music must provide their own backing music on cd cued to their selected music. Performers will be provided with the following equipment for their performance. 2 microphones, 2 direct input boxes, regular power supply, 1 monitor, 2 speakers
Performers must be able to set up for their performance in the allotted 4 minute time or they will be penalized off their score.
Performer must be avialbe for both the rehearsal and the performance. Failure to attend the rehearsal will result in disqualification from the talent contest.
Performer must be able to perform their talent with in the 7 minute timeframe allotted each contestant.
Performers act or talent can not contain any action or skill that may be knowingly harmful or dangerous (juggling with fire).
Performers in the junior division must be supervised by an adult/guardian during the rehearsal and performance.
Judging
Performers will be judged on the following criteria:
Quality of Performance 30 points Talent 30 points Engagement of the Audience 30 points Originality of Performance/Interpretation of Existing Work 10 points
In the event of a tie the judges will select a winner based on the performers with the tied scores.
There will be two categories of contestant: Junior Division: consists of all contestants below age 16 Adult Division: consists of all contestants age 16 and above
Number of performers will be limited to the time limit of the show.
Qualifying for Oxford’s Got Talent:
Performers can qualify in two manners: Submission of video or cd: Performers can submit an appropriate format for their talent DVD or cd for review by the judges by March 1, 2010 to the Arts Council.

Submitted materials will not be returned.
Live Audition:
Performers may request a live audition. Each audition will be limited to the 7 minutes and be offered in the order of sign up on the day of auditions.

Performers, parents/guardians of minor performers, agree that names, images and likeness may be used in news reporting, documenting, and in promotional materials which may include but not limited to: website, print advertising, posters, flyers, and news paper stories.
Performers, during auditions and the talent contest, recognize that they may be asked to perform on a stage and in a theatre environment and accept all risks and agree to hold harmless the staff, volunteers, board and organizers of the Oxford’s Got Talent contest and the Oxford Park Commission, and Yoknapatawpha Arts Council.
