The winners of the Double Decker Juried art show were announced Friday April 23, 2010 at the Powerhouse as part of the annual festival. The juried portion of the festival was different than it had been in the past years. The juried prizes previously where only available to artist exhibiting at the Double Decker festival but this year the organizers opened the juried program to any artist. “The goal of the festival is to promote the talented artists of the region” shared Wayne Andrews, Director of the Arts Council, “ we felt expanding the juried program would allow newer artist to gain recognition at a time when we have our largest audience focused on the visual arts of our community.” This gave regional artists who were not admitted as vendors the opportunity to be in the show and expand their body of work. The juried show was exhibited at the Powerhouse beginning on Monday April 19 and will continue through this week ending April 30^th.
