Burlesque, is one of the oldest forms of theatre. The political satire of the 18th century; the art form developed into an exciting collection of live performances by comedians, dancers, and artists with unique skills from the contortionists to fire eaters. Burlesque was the show for the common man which crossed over in the age of television into the variety show spawning famous shows from Ed Sullivan to the modern late night talk show.
