The J.E. Pitts Artist Fund

The J.E. Pitts Artist Fund was established to provide support for Mississippi Artists. The fund provides grants directly to the artist to support the creation and completion of a new work in the literary, film, music or visual arts.

The initial presentation of the new work must occur in Lafayette County. In support of this requirement applicants may request use of the Powerhouse Community Arts Center for the presentation of the completed work.

The J.E. Pitts Artist Fund was established by family and friends of Jimmy Pitts whose creative energy inspired fellow artists and the community. The Fund was established to ensure those with a creative spirit had the opportunity to express and fulfill their vision.

There are two application periods each year, and the deadlines to apply are March 30th and September 30th.
