The Rotary Club of Oxford-Ole Miss is pleased to announce the 8th Annual Tunes & Tails Charity Event. Join us on May 18, 2018 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Old Armory Pavilion in Oxford for this family friendly event featuring crawfish, beer, soft drinks, and live music from Tate Moore and the Cosmic Door. Kid’s activities and kid’s meals available.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates of Lafayette County (CASA).
CASA is the 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization based in Oxford, that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the area through the development and support of court-sanctioned, community-based programs which provide trained and supervised volunteers.
Thousands of abused and neglected children in Mississippi have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care. In the over-burdened court system, these children, who are most in need of help, often fall through the cracks.
The purpose of CASA is to train volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children in court proceedings to ensure every child is in a safe and permanent home.
In order to ensure a healthy future for Mississippi's most vulnerable children, CASA of Lafayette County believes in breaking the cycle of abuse through volunteer advocacy within the court system.
